Τhe Roots of a Practice

With Alessandro Rivellino(Brasil) and Carola Robles (Perú)

September 29 - October 1

A few words by Ale and Carola:

In this workshop, we step away from certainty to explore the richness of not knowing—not as
confusion, but as an expanded space for perception, movement, and connection.Through

Contact Improvisation, we will sense the body beyond the control of movement, beyond the “I,”
moving as a whole with the floor, gravity, space, and others. We will work with stillness and
momentum, listening to points of contact, and exploring balance as an open-ended relationship.
Time as the heart beating, blood flowing, cells renewing.Space as the breath arriving and
leaving, the senses as doors between inner and outer.
From here, movement unfolds—pure, unplanned, alive.
This is not a search for control, catharsis, or escape, but for sensitivity, deep listening, and
collaborative inquiry. Silence will hold us, maybe not as emptiness, but as a container for
creativity and presence.
As Steve Paxton says: “The dance is the teacher; the teacher points to that.”
Let’s meet in that space—between knowing and not knowing—and see where the next dance
begins.
